Here I am out in our yard
enjoying the beautiful day. A couple of days ago, I got nose to nose with a woodchuck! I must have surprised him or something, because they usually run away as soon as they see me coming. He puffed himself up and made clacking noises at me (I didn't know they could do that!). Then he lunged at me, and I lunged at him, but we never actually bit each other---what fun! He finally ran into the woods. Ain't life grand!

Wolf takes classes

Wolf is a very alert and active boy, so we do what we can to keep him busy and challenged. He's been to Puppy classes, Basic Obedience, Intermediate Obedience, Basic Agility (twice!) and is now going to a class to help him pass the Canine Good Citizen test. He loves attending various Shiloh events and shows, and going for long rides in the car. He keeps the deer and woodchucks from overrunning our property, and loves to play "chuck it" with tennis balls. When we can, we take him for long walks at the neighborhood park, and he enjoys running alongside me when I mow on my zero-turn tractor. Next month we'll be particpating in a herding event, and maybe in the spring we'll look at Rally-O classes. All of this is good for both of us, because I really enjoy being with Mr. Wolf (and I can always use the exercise!).

Baby Wolf

Here is a picture of Wolf at 12 weeks old, a couple days before we brought him home. Look at those eyes! When I first saw pictures of Wolf on Bellegrace's website, I knew that this boy was for us . He still has that same penetrating look today--- the "look of eagles".
Wolf is ready at the drop of a hat to do anything with us, yet he's also happy to lay down at our feet if we want to relax. Because he is a smooth coat Shiloh (as opposed to a plush coat), he is very easy to brush and take care of, kind of a "wash and go" dog. Cute, huh?

more Wolf

Wolf does everything 110 percent. He plays hard/sleeps hard/eats alot and is a ball of energy and fun! He sometimes gets into mischief, like shredding toilet paper or grabbing something off the coffee table and playing "catch me if you can". He is still a puppy though (Shilohs take 2-3 years to fully mature), so I try to be patient and laugh when I can. He is so smart it's amazing, and learns very quickly. We actually have to spell things around him, and he doesn't just know words---he understands sentences!! He is also very intuitive, and is very quick to read our voices or faces. And nothing makes him happier than when he knows he's done something that pleases us. Shiloh Shepherds are an incredible breed!
About Wolf

Bellegrace's Blue Timber Wolf is my Shiloh Shepherd. He was born July 1, 2007. He is a Light Golden Sable smooth coat, and is from the Sera/Konrad '07 litter from Bellegrace Shilohs in Pennsylvania. Wolf has done obedience training, agility, some herding and loves to help me as I "tractor" our 6 acres. He is loyal, protective, fun-loving and sweet to his friends and family. He loves going for car rides and playing with other dogs, especially his best pals Ranger(a white GSD), and Buddy (a miniature Dachshund). He still has some more growing to do, but at his current age (15 months) he is 29" tall at the shoulder and weighs 111 lbs. We got Wolf when he was 12 weeks old and weighed 31 lbs. Big even then! Wolf is a wonderful companion to us and is always trying to out-think us...he keeps us on our toes. He can be a big silly goof, but don't let that fool you---I have no doubt that he would lay down his life for us if necessary. Wolf is the best dog in the world and we love him!
